Dandelion Dome and Other Stories is out now!

My debut book Dandelion Dome and Other Stories is now available with Barnes and Noble! This collection of short stories follows different characters struggling with one common theme: loss. Whether they're missing people they love, a part of themselves, or both, these characters must deal with the heartbreaking aftermath of losing something essential. This aftermath may bring pain, it may bring willful ignorance, but it will surely bring insanity. Join a grieving mother, a broken teenage boy, an alien, and many others in their journey to find redemption in a life that's as unpredictable as it is beautiful. Whether they find this redemption and fulfilment is up to how you read their stories, as this collection will have you questioning what you believe it means to be truly happy in this life with each turn of the page.

Everyone who’s known me since I was an eight year old with a dream knows I’ve always wanted to be a writer. Sometimes even authors can’t find the words, but you know I’m going to try. Thank you to everyone who has believed in me, supported me, or even humored me in my crazy journey. Thank you to my family, who always knew I could do it even when I didn’t, and my mom for her hours of reading and discussing. Thank you to my fiancé Jacob, who has not only been there to help me since the first drafts but has also pushed me and given me nothing but love during this process (and a few well-deserved critiques). Thank you to my God, who blessed me with the desires of my heart and the talent and drive to pursue them. And thank you to anyone who reads this creation of mine; your support means everything. Click the Dandelion Dome and Other Stories link under the "Publications" tab to check it out. Thank you all again, and I hope you enjoy. 🤍🖤

New Video Reading Series!
Something New reading video pic.png

My debut book "Dandelion Dome and Other Stories" was finally  published last December! To celebrate, and to thank everyone who has bought, read, or supported the book and myself in any way, I have started a new video reading series!

Each week, I will be posting a new video on my Instagram page and IGTV. These videos will be dedicated to a story from the collection and will feature a short reading of an excerpt from each of them!

Along with a quick reading, these videos will share a little bit more about me and my experience writing the stories in the collection. My hope is to connect with you all, my readers and supporters, a little bit better by discussing and sharing more with you. If you're interested, be sure to click the Instagram icon at the top of this page to check out my account and IGTV series!

Halloween Special:

It lives in your vent.

You’ve suspected since you moved into your studio apartment that not all the bumps and thumps come from your upstairs neighbor. The creaking has always been closer to you than that, and it is best heard when you’re lying in bed at night, sneaking glimpses at the white air vent over your closet door across the room to your left. Sometimes it’s not even the noises sneaking through the skinny black slits that keep you from falling asleep. Sometimes, it’s the fact that you keep opening your eyes and glancing in its direction. You can’t help it. If the thing is watching you, you’re going to watch it back.

You haven’t seen its eyes, but something deep inside where the fear lays makes you think they’re orange. Glowing, like a cat’s. You just never see them because the thing that lives in your vent always seems to be one step ahead of you. Maybe it only watches you during the day, when you’re studying your psych textbook or cooking ham and egg sandwiches or on the phone with your mom. Or maybe it can sense when your eyes are open and closes its blazing ones until you shut yours. Watching you dream is its favorite. You’re sure of that.

It won’t watch your slumber tonight, though.

Tonight, you will catch it.

"Something New" is here! Find it in Youth Imagination Magazine

My second publication is called "Something New"! It can now be found in the June 2020 issue of Youth Imagination magazine on their website. "Something New" is a short story following a narrator who comes from a broken past as she tries to adjust to college life without her boyfriend and with her perfect, slightly annoying roommate Lila. After realizing her life may never improve, the narrator slowly comes to a solution: become something new. But to do that, she'll need some help from Lila. As the story progresses, so does the narrator's transition, but only she would call it an improvement. Now published in CoogLife Magazine: "Venusian"

My first published short story "Venusian" can now be found in the October 2019 print edition of CoogLife magazine and on the magazine's website. "Venusian" is a short piece broken into four sections that tells of life on Venus. After a class in which I learned about all the planets, Venus stuck out to me with its unique, dangerous atmosphere and its topography full of volcanoes. I wanted to write a short piece focused on the setting of the unique planet, and as the story progressed I created a creature so the reader could see what Venus is like through his eyes. This nameless character became very important to me, so I hope you enjoy him as well. About Me

WELCOME!

about me.jpg

Welcome to my website! Here you will find the stories I’ve been honored to have published, as well as any news and updates concerning future stories and publications. It means the world to me that you’re here. When I was eight years old and writing stories at my third-grade desk during free time, I used to practice my “About the Author” blurb on the back of the sheet of notebook paper where I had written THE END. Now I’ve published stories online and in print, graduated from the University of Houston with my degree in creative writing, and published my debut book, Dandelion Dome and Other Stories. I’m so excited to be on this journey and to share it with others. Fiction is something that’s touched and changed my life, and I’m blessed to have it be such a big part of my every day. I hope to spread that same love of stories with everyone who reads my work. This is why I write, and it’s why I’m thankful for all my readers. Enjoy!
